Dr. Shah is currently a vitreoretinal faculty at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute and Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, OK. Dr. Shah came to Oklahoma city after completing a Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute, Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He comes from a family of physicians in India, and his parents were trained in the United States. Dr. Shah graduated from medical school and subsequently completed an ophthalmology residency in India. He has completed a fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal diseases and surgery: at the world-renowned L. V. Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. He commenced his American training by doing a post doc fellowship in vitreo-retina diseases and a surgical internship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. In 2006 he completed a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at The University of Iowa, one of the top ophthalmology departments in the world. Subsequently he completed his residency at the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2009 where he was honored with being selected as a resident Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). Dr. Shah has over sixty five peer reviewed publications and book chapters in ophthalmology. Dr. Shah has been honored with the Achievement Award at the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has also received the Honor and Senior Honor Award at the American Society of Retina Specialists for his scientific contributions.
